From the lab to city skyline: how material science shapes climate-resilient urban planning
Building resilience means anticipating future climate demands today — starting with the materials we use.
At Pan-United Corporation, research and development are helping to shape materials for the cities of tomorrow.
Guided by our mission to decarbonise the built environment, Pan-United’s R&D team has published six scientific studies advancing concrete innovation for a more sustainable future.

The research explored:
- Lower Embodied Carbon: Developing concrete formulations that reduce reliance on carbon-heavy cement and integrate technologies such as carbon mineralisation.
- Performance & Strength: Advancing high-performance concrete solutions to meet increasingly demanding structural requirements.
- Climate Adaptation: Improving concrete performance under different environmental conditions to support climate-resilient infrastructure.
While the science happens in the lab, Pan-United turns research into real-world solutions — with a portfolio of more than 300 specialised concrete formulations, over half of which are low-carbon.
Through continuous R&D, we help build greener, more resilient cities for generations to come.
